Enjoy Disney For Less Than $100 a Day

No, entry fee not required, parking is free...

Cling, cling, cling... We are coming! Walkers were blocking our way as our four wheeler bicycle was reeling down the slope. On this sunny morning, we rented a four-seater bicycle for twenty two dollars for a half hour ride along the boardwalk. Going downhill and uphill as we pedaled together and ringing the bell as we go along.

Ice Indulgence

Seagulls flying by and some birds conclude to conclude on tables where happy vacationers were having breakfast. Man and bird sharing food. Smell of coffee, sun bathers relaxing and tanning on beach chairs at the synthetic sand beach. Alas, the sign said, no swimming!

Hurry, the boat is here. Free boat rides for visitors from boardwalk to Epcot. We went along for a free ride with all the happy visitors. It is such fun to population watch on the boat. There are visitors from all over the United States and other parts of the world. Families rescue for years just to take this dream vacation.
The boat sailed on slow calm water and took all visitors to the back entry of Epcot. You can take as many rides as you like. The boat took us back where we boarded.

Have you heard of the paramount 'kitchen sink' at boardwalk? This is a once in a lifetime experience for us. Ice cream for lunch! So, it was an unconventional lunch at the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. Old-fashioned favorites served with beach-side charm, said the brochure. Sure enough, ladies in old fashioned laced apron and bonnet, man in overalls and pink, blue and white striped shirts serving and waiting on tables and counters. The shop serves original all-American burgers and hot dogs, superior sundaes, floats and the extreme - kitchen sink.

The siren went off and proclamation was made as the server brought our kitchen sink filled with eight scoops vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Topped with bananas, angel cake, fudges, brownies, chocolate chips, chocolate bars, peanut fudge and a whole can of whipped cream. Viola! Time to dig in, no calorie count for this once in a life time ice cream indulgence.

Lunch set us back thirty dollars together with tips and tax. You got to see it to believe it. It was a treat.

Looking for a fun filled, great food, cheap and easy going day along the shore minutes away from all the lively happenings of Disney?

The next stop is uptown Disney. The drive in the middle of Boardwalk and uptown Disney is about 10 minutes, practically 5 miles.

First stop, delight Island. There were Irish Pubs and Dining Room, Portobello Italian Restaurant, Fulton's Crab House on a paddle boat finding construction and Trex Restaurant. Can you imagine, a long line of diners waiting to be called even at 3 pm. It was a crowded afternoon with spring break and holiday makers from all over the world. Trex restaurant has a big dinosaur right in the middle of the restaurant with lights and cave like dining booth. Great place for dinosaurs lovers and dreamers.

Live jazz music was playing and the smell of chocolate filled the air. The Ghirardelli Store presents chocolates galore, coffee, hot cocoa and ice cream. Choices everywhere... Food, souvenirs, drinks and entertainment galore. All free to look at.

Need time away from the crowd - time for peaceful, secluded and quiet place for dinner. For that we chose Portobello, an Italian Trattoria. We had fried calamari rings and Sicilian eggplant fries for appetizers. For entrees, we had Quattro formaggi and Margherita wood oven burning pizza. Dinner was forty five dollars together with tips and taxes.

We spent a grand total of ninety seven dollars for a day face of the parks at Disney. This day trip inspired us in four dissimilar ways:

1. Walt Disney was a man who had encountered many rejections, failures and bankruptcy.. He said, the unlikeness in winning and losing is most often...not quitting. He also said, the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. Can you fantasize if he just talk about the plan and not doing it or quit when rejections, failures and bankruptcy happened?

2. Most population save for quite a few years to make a dream trip for themselves or their children to be in Disney World. It is such an emotional and happy place for visitors. It was emotional for me when I first stepped foot in Disney twenty years ago. This is a place that offer and market 'dreams come true' experience for young and old. A great goods and marketing concept.

3. Excellence is the name of the game in Disney. We see crew enduringly cleaning, repairing and painting anytime we are there.

4. Great place to realize the possibility of dream and vision. Disney World was a man's vision and dream. Today it is a worldwide phenomenon.

The Disney Phenomenon

Disney World attracted 47.5 million visitors in 2009 according to Visit Orlando. Disney Corporate office reported:

75 million Cokes, 13 million bottles of water, 10 million hamburgers, 6 million hotdogs, and 9 million pounds of French Fries and 300,000 pounds of popcorn are sold each year at Disney World four parks.
