One of the best sellers in Christmas sweets are its chocolate products. It is not a surprising fact since approximately all population colse to the world loves chocolates. Moreover, chocolate also promote good blood circulation thereby reducing the risk of strokes and heart attack. And there is truth that chocolates actually make you happy. It contains tryptophan, an essential amino acid that produces serotonin and endorphins that lessens anxiety and reduces one's sensitivity to pain. The mere inhalation of a hot chocolate drink can send theta brain waves that will immediately supervene to relaxation. If you're on a diet, a cup of chocolate drink before meal can actually diminish your appetite.

A Christmas Morning Treat - Stuffed French Toast

Everyone has their own favorite Christmas recipes for lunch or dinner but what about breakfast? You might like to make Bucks Fizz by combining white wine or champagne with orange juice. Smoked salmon with cream cheese on toast would make a nice breakfast but what about if you fancy something hot and kid-friendly?

The exquisite explication would be stuffed French toast. You can serve it as it is, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some fresh berries on the side, for real indulgence. If the next meal is not going to be until the late afternoon, this makes a hearty breakfast on Christmas morning and will keep you going until dinnertime. This astounding dish would be gorgeous served with a cup of snowman soup, which is festive style hot chocolate, on the side.

You will probably have a lot to do on Christmas morning so get your family to help you with the other preparations. This recipe is indeed easy. The batter ingredients just need to be mixed together, as do the filling ingredients. The syrup is simple too. You can use any kind of bread you have but challah bread is especially good in the following dish. This recipe makes enough to serve two population if you are serving it by itself or that can stretch to four if you are adding ice cream and fresh berries.

What You Need -

For The Batter:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup white sugar

For The Filling:

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup diced banana
  • 1 1/2 cups cream cheese
  • 1/8 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

For The Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 pieces challah bread, 2 inches thick
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • Butter, as required

How To Make It:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Join the batter ingredients in a bowl and keep the combination chilled until you are ready to use it. Fold the filling ingredients together in a bowl until the combination is well combined but not totally smooth.

Combine the syrup ingredients in a pan over a gently high heat and stir the combination until the sugar has dissolved. Bring it to a boil and let it cut by one third. Put some butter in a skillet and dredge the bread in it. Fry the bread for a Join of minutes per side or until it is golden brown. Let it cool.

Divide the filling between two pieces of the bread and top with the remaining two pieces of bread. Put the French toast in the oven and bake it for eight minutes. Cut each one in half and serve with the syrup and also some vanilla ice cream and berries if you like. Serve it immediately.

Yummy Christmas Drinks

The holidays often inspire us to eat warm, customary meals and spend extra time with our families. Add to that the fun of making up a nice spiced drink to sip near the fire and you're ready to bask in the holiday season! Here are a few great drink recipes for you to try out (or, as a reminder if you've had them before).

Hot Buttered Rum

Ice Indulgence

Ingredients:
2 c. Vanilla ice cream
1 c. Granulated sugar
1 c. Brown sugar
1 c. Butter
Rum Substitute (non-alcoholic)
Nutmeg
Water

Directions: Mix the regular and brown sugars and butter in a sauce pan. Set to a low heat until the butter melts. Be sure to stir occasionally. When the butter is melted, pour the composition into a large bowl and add the ice cream. Beat together until the composition is smooth. To make the buttered rum drink, fill 1/4 of a cup with the mixture, add about an ounce of rum substitute, and 3/4 of a cup of boiling water. Top with a pinch of nutmeg. The butter/ice cream/sugar composition can be kept in a sealed holder in the fridge for about two weeks, which makes it a cinch to get ready when you have unexpected company.

Chocolate Egg Nog

Ingredients:
Egg Nog
Chocolate Syrup

Directions: This one's easy! In a glass, mix 4 parts egg nog to 1 part chocolate syrup. Top with a sprinkle of nutmeg if you want to jazz it up a bit.

Chilled Mocha with Amaretto

Ingredients:
4 oz. Of chocolate milk
2 oz. Of cold coffee
1 oz. Amaretto-flavored (non-alcoholic) syrup
Whipped cream
Chocolate powder or shavings
Ice

Directions: In a large glass, add ice, chocolate milk, coffee, and amaretto syrup. Mix together and top with whipped cream. Sprinkle chocolate shavings or a dash of chocolate powder and serve.

Hot Mulled Apple Cider

Ingredients:
3 cups of apple cider
4 cinnamon sticks + 2 more to garnish
1/2 cup of ground "red hots" candy
1/2 cup of rum substitute (non-alcoholic)

Directions: Mix all of the ingredients together in a sauce pan (or slow cooker) and heat on a medium heat. Once the composition is hot, reduce to a low heat and allow it to mull for about an hour. Serve warm and ornament with a cinnamon stick or two.
