Cherry Pie formula

It seems as if there are few more popular kinds of desserts and pies than fruit pies. Every person loves the freshness and goodness of a fruit pie. Cherry pie is one of the most customary of the fruit pies and there is no doubt it is honestly a lot of people's favorites. This Cherry pie method is easy to follow, uses fresh cherries and you will be amazed at the flavor.

Ingredients for Cherry Pie recipe:
o 1 ¼ cups of white sugar
o 1/3 cup of cornstarch
o 1 cup of cherry juice
o 4 cups of fresh tart cherries - these can be frozen, pitted tart cherries that are thawed
o ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
o ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
o ¼ teaspoon of almond extract
o 2 cups of all purpose flour
o ½ teaspoon of salt
o 2/3 cup of shortening
o 3 to 4 tablespoons of cool water

o In a large saucepan, integrate the sugar and cornstarch
o Gradually stir in the cherry juice and stir until it becomes smooth
o Bring this to a boil
o Cook and stir this composition for two minutes or until it becomes thickened
o Remove this from the heat
o Add in the cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg and passage and set it aside
o In a large bowl, integrate the flour and salt
o Cut in the shortening and mix until it is crumbly
o Gradually add in the cold water
o Toss the composition with a fork until it forms a ball
o Divide the pastry in half so that one of the balls is larger than the other one
o On a surface with a itsybitsy flour on it, roll out the larger ball so that is fits into a nine inch pie plate
o Transfer the dough onto the pie plate and trim the edge so that it is even with the edge of the plate
o Add in the filing
o Roll out the remaining pastry
o Make a lattice crust
o Trim, seal and then flute the edges of the crust
o Bake at 425 degrees for ten minutes
o Reduce the heat to 375 degrees and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or longer until the crust becomes a golden brown
o Cool on a wire rack

Cut the pie into desired sizes of slices and serve. You can top with ice-cream or whipped cream if you like. Enjoy this cherry pie method as a sweetmeat that will compliment any meal.
